Aromatherapy massage uses very light pressure along with soft pumping movements in the direction of the lymph nodes; Lymphatic Drainage Massage is known to have a positive effect on people with fluid retention/puffiness (oedema) and also problematic skin (including cellulite). It is also recommended for individuals who suffer regularly from low energy or common illnesses related to their immune system.
What happens during an aromatherapy massage treatment?
On your first visit, the reflexology practitioner will conduct a full personal consultation. This consultation enables the treatment to be tailored to your specific needs. Three essential oils will be picked by the therapist and approved by you to be used during the massage. An aromatherapy massage treatment lasts for approximately one hour. You will be invited to lie on a comfortable treatment couch. During the treatment towels will be used to ensure your modesty.
As the effects of aromatherapy massage are cumulative, many people find it beneficial to continue with regular treatments.
After treatment recommendations:
Essential oils used during the treatment will continue working on your system after the treatment. I is recommended not to shower until the next day for full benefit. Have a light meal and drink plenty of water to help expel the toxins. Sun exposure and sun bed must be avoided as some oils are phototoxics.
