Maternity Treatments

Pregnancy is an extremely important moment of a woman’s life. It is hugely important to take special care of the physical but also emotional health of the mum to be.

Maternity Reflexology

Reflexology is one of the most popular complementary therapies used during maternity as it improves general well-being, energy and promotes balance.

Birth process in women who receive reflexology during their pregnancy has been reported as one that is easier, faster and more natural. It is also extremely effective at preparing the body for labour due to its remarkable effects on the endocrine system.

Are you getting to your term?

There are a number of things you can try to help baby come on due time and avoid going to much over term and eventually avoid being induced. Reflexology is one of them and it is usually highly recommended by health providers.

Cost of the treatment: 45 minutes - €50

Gentle birth

Stress not only impacts your health but also your baby’s. It is important to learn to relax and let go. A birth must be prepare month before using visualisations and mindfulness for example.

Fail to prepare and prepare to fail. When pregnant with my second child I was told that birth can be like a marathon and that you would never dream of running a marathon without training. I totally agree! The difference is that the training we are talking about here is more mental than physical

My personal experience of pregnancy and child birth brought me to specialise in the area to help women to get the best of it. Make it clear lady, labour should not be the worse day of your life, but rather the opposite! You can prepare yourself, mentally and physically to leave the experience positively.

Winner Flow

Aroma Energy is the official representative of Winner Flow in Ireland and has the exclusive distribution rights for the product in Ireland.

During pregnancy, the abdomen expands due to the growth of the baby and uterus. This distension causes many dysfunction due to the progressive incompetence of the abdominal muscles (heaviness, discomfort, lower back pain). The uterine volume raises and reduces the diaphragm causing breathing difficulties. Using the winner flow, the patient will re-learn how to use her diaphragm properly to avoid putting pressure on her perineum. In other words, it protects it.

When used during pregnancy it can:

  • Protect the perineum

  • Relieve constipation (helps the intestinal transit)

  • Prevent urinary leaks

  • Prevent back and pelvis pains (no pressure)

Is can also:

  • Relax and de-stress

  • Help with sleep

  • The parturient gets more confident

During labour, it can help to:

  • Oxygenate the baby and mum and regulates foetal heart rate during labour and the expulsive effort

  • Dilate the cervix

  • Position the baby in the good axe in the pelvis as the abdominal belt is properly used

  • Relieve pressure from the perineum

  • Give control to the patient who is active and in control of her labour and delivery

  • Plus it is a comforting aid to hold onto

During expulsion:

  • It can reduce neck pain for baby

  • Easier birth: less episiotomy, less instruments, less pain for baby

It can be used for vaginal delivery, C-Section (extra-peritoneal), during pregnancy and perineal re-education. Neurologist and psychiatrist also use it to help their patient recover from burnout as it support brain oxygenation
